Serve the Community
Anderson Hills United Methodist is about so much more than weekly worship in Anderson Township, Ohio. We are a church that firmly believes that our ministry extends to our neighbors, in our community, our city, our country, and our world. Contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one ministry by trained, caring parishioners. . A lay person, through training, learns skills and develops his/her gifts for bringing Christ’s healing love to people who are lonely, grieving, strangers, new parents, ill or experiencing other stresses in life. The Stephen Minister works in continual consultation with Church clergy and receives ongoing education in the helping ministry. To receive the help of a Stephen Minister, ask any member of the church staff who will refer the request to the
Stephen Minister leader. Or, ask the
Stephen Minister leader directly. All Stephen Ministry is strictly confidential.

Prepare Affair/Repair Affair
Every fall, with "People Working Cooperatively" AHUMC volunteers help the elderly and disabled prepare their homes for winter. This project is held each Fall. The Repair Affair is held in the Spring by "People Working Cooperatively" and helps the elderly clean up and make repairs after the winter months.

Habitat for Humanity AHUMC Work Days
Project 5000
Boxes of food are collected during Lent and distributed to area food pantries at Easter. Each box contains enough food to feed a family of four for two days.
Back to School and Christmas Project
Works with the school district in helping needy families with school supplies in August and food and gifts at Christmas time.
Our church has a partnership with Mt. Washington Elementary. During the 2010-2011 school year an estimated 40 students will be blessed with the fellowship of our church volunteers. These volunteer/student pairs meet weekly to share a church prepared dinner, spend an hour in a tutoring session and experience a speaker who will teach and encourage their growth.
In 2005, WhizKids under the CityCURE organization started this program to help stop the literacy deficiency that occurs in Cincinnati schools. Our church is happy to join the many local churches doing just that with WhizKids.
After six months of a successful student/volunteer relationship, the volunteer can become a WhizKids Mentor. The WhizKids mentoring program allows for mentors and students to spend time further developing their relationship away from the weekly planned sessions at our church.
If you have interest in volunteering for this program please contact Kathleen Sebastian.
